It was Christmas night at the NMT, and Allen was sitting in a chair, looking at the night sky. The contestants where asleep resting for the hardships ahead. Allen looked onto the ground and saw Billy walking up to him. He looked sad and confused, even more than when the tournament began.
“Hey, Billy… what’s wrong?”
“Brother Roberts… how will Santa know I’m here?”
Allen smiled and picked up Billy, putting him on his knee.
“Billy, when we get back to Day Lilly, your presents will be waiting for you. Here, we can celebrate Christmas just like how Jesus celebrated it.”
Billy looked up at Allen, even more confused. “What do you mean? He got his gifts on his birthday, didn’t he?”
“No, Billy. You see, the only people to see Jesus when he was born where the shepherds, and they didn’t give him anything but praise. They where too poor to afford any presents for him. The wise men came a year later.”
“Oh… so, how are we gonna have Christmas?”
Allen looked at the ground and began to think. He then came up with an idea. Allen picked up Billy and placed him on his shoulders as he made his way to Coma, who was fast asleep next to a campfire. He knelt down and put Billy down onto the ground next to him. Allen gently put his hand on Coma’s shoulder and attempted to wake her up.
“Um… excuse me… “
“Huh… wha…” Coma looked up to see Allen hovering over her. She was jostled, but kept her cool as she sat up.
“Oh, I’m sorry… you startled me…”
“It’s alright. I have that affect on people. I have to ask you something. When I was inside Nightmares hideout, I found out about your ability, so… well, you know that tonight is Christmas eve, and I was…”
“Can you get us a tree please, miss lady ma’am?” Billy said giving her his puppy dog eyes.
Coma smiled at Billy as she bent her neck to get to eye level to him. “Well, I guess that wouldn’t be a problem. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a tree now…”
Coma stood up and made her way to a clearing began to concentrate.
“How about… if we have a big tree, and tall, too!” as she talked to herself, a tall tree, twice the size of Allen, materialized out of thin air.
“Great… Now, don’t worry about the decorations. Don’t worry about them at all…”
Allen began walking through the contestants till he made his way to Burke, who was sitting on the ground, looking at what Allen was doing.
“Hello, Mr. Gallstone… I was wondering if you could help me with something…”
“Alright, Mr. Roberts. What do you need me for?”
Allen pointed at the boulder with a smile. “Could you bust that into a lot of small balls?”
Burke looked at Allen with an awkward smile. “What for?”
Allen grinned. “Christmas…”
Burke, still a bit confused, walked over to the boulder and gave it a swift punch. While Burke was busy punching the boulder, Allen made his way to Yeriel who had woken up after hearing the loud bashing from the boulder, as did many of the competitors and survivors of the tournament.
“I’m going to need you to help me out later on, till then, could you gather some of the small rocks that Mr. Gallstone breaks off?”
She sleepily nods as she gets up and walks to where Burke was. Allen makes his way to Ravon, who was still asleep with his hat over his face. Allen nudges Ravon awake. He simply takes off his hat and looks Allen in the face.
“What do you want? Its late…”
“Excuse me, Ravon, for waking you up, but could I use your ammo belt for a second? It’s temporary, and I promise you’ll get it back.”
Ravon takes a moment, and then gives Allen his ammo belt. Allen goes to the tree and hands the ammo belt to Billy.
“Hold onto this, Billy. I’ll be right back.”
Allen began to walk towards Pan, but before he could get any closer, Pan throws a rock towards him.
“Don’t even think about it, Preacher man! I want to sleep!”
“Come on! I have something that only you could do, Pan. And it won’t take long. I promise.”
Pan seemed to be grumbling to himself as he slithers towards Allen.
“Alright… but I’ll need you to be my host for a second.”
Allen brought out his stony arm and Pan slithered up, plunging himself into the flesh next to his head, making it look like Allen had two heads. He made his way back to the tree and picked up Billy.
“Alright, Pan. Pick him up. Then Billy, put the belt onto the tree like garland.”
Pan picked up Billy, who began to string the ammo belt onto the tree. After a few minuets, the job was done, and Billy was on the ground. He then went back towards Sam and let Pan off so he could sleep once more. Allen then walked over to Clementine, who had walked towards him with a grin on her face.
“Got anything that you want me to do?”
“Actually, yes. Go to Yeriel. She has a pile of rocks. Do you think you could make some ornaments? Nothing elaborate. Just make sure we can hang it up when where done.”
Clementine smiles as she goes towards Yeriel and begins her job. More and more people begin to wake up and help with the decorating. Allen looks back at the tree and begins to grin.
“Almost finished. Now… we just need a star.”
Allen looks around and sees Dreamweaver looking at the tree with childish glee holding onto her dream weaver as she walks over to Allen.
“Um… Mr. Roberts? Could I help ? You could use my dream weaver.”
Allen smiled at her generosity. “Thank you… it would be much appreciated.”
Dreamweaver hands it over to him happily.
“Thank you again. I’ll make sure it returns to you in one piece.”
Allen looked back at the tree. Clementine had finished creating all of the ornaments, and while Allen had told her not to, she had outdid herself with there beauty. Allen looked at the tree, and finally realized the dilemma. Pan had already went back to sleep, and he couldn’t possibly wake him up again. He couldn’t think of anyone else who could put the makeshift star on the tree, and he didn’t want to tax Coma’s mind to create anything else besides the tree.
While Allen was worrying about how to put the star up on the tree, Nin walked over toward him and gently took the dream weaver from his hand. She walked over to the tree and turned into a chipmunk. She scurried up the tree with the ornimate in hand (paw?) and made her way to the top. In the end, she had placed it on top and looked down. She dived down, and landed onto the ground. Allen came over and put his hand onto Nin’s shoulder.
“Thank you, Nin… we couldn’t have done it without you.”
Allen then turned his attention to Yeriel. “Alright… to finish this off, Yeriel… I need you to light the tree. Do you think you can do that?”
Yeriel gave Allen a confidant nod as she went forward and put her hands up to concentrate. After a few seconds, the tree lit up with tiny shimmers of light. It was a magic moment as the lights twinkled and everyone gathered around the tree. Billy walked over to Allen and tugged at his shorts.
“Is it Christmas now, Brother Roberts?”
Allen picked up Billy and placed him on his shoulders. “Yes, Billy. It’s Christmas…”
As the night goes on, everyone who is awake began to sing all the carols they could think of, and the spirit of the season moved through them. It was of fellowship, of friends, and at these troubling times, hope. Hope that everyone here will make it to see home once more. Hope that more blood would not have to be spilt. Hope that their troubles where almost finished.
Far from perfect. Far from great. But this is a gift for everyone who was in the Nightmare Tournament. I hope you like it.

If anyone can guess what is the connection with every character named (save for Allen and Billy) I can give you some cool points... but nothing more... I'm dirt poor and can't afford any good stuff, and my drawing skills leave much to be desired...

MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HANUKKAH! HAPPY KWANZA! FELIZ NAVIDA! AND... um... quick! Someone give me a holiday!
